What is P-WS (Water Absorbing Polymer) ?

Superabsorbent polymers were invented almost 15 years ago to improve agriculture in arid conditions. Thousands of different types of polymers are now used everyday in such diverse applications as: diapers, gel ice, fire fighting, municipal water treatment, toothpaste, and cosmetics.

P-WS holds up to 400 times their density in water, and slowly release the water to the root of the plant, sometimes eliminating or saving up to 50% on irrigation, depending on the annual rainfall in the growing region. They also absorb and slowly release fertilizer improving nutrient retention.

@

P-WS uses the highest quality superabsorber available on the market, which work in the soil for at least 5-10 years, and slowly breaks down into its' component parts of ammonia, carbon dioxide and water with no residual toxicity. P-WS uses potassium polymers, which are better for plants than most other polymers, which are sodium based, causing harm to plants and the environment. One pound of water absorbing polymer can store up to 48 gallons of rain water or snow melt. Polymers hydrate to their fullest capacity in de-mineralized water, thus requiring the application of more polymers in areas where irrigation with hard water is necessary. Rain water will purge the polymer of minerals absorbed during irrigation allowing it to again hydrate to itsf fullest capacity.
